Riders come in many shapes and sizes. We begin our riding career as leadliners and hopefully continue riding forever. As we all get older, our choices of riding clothing change. We want comfort in our schooling apparel, and well-tailored riding apparel for our show clothing. Maryland Saddlery has invested in correctly fitting, properly tailored English riding clothing for today’s women riders.
Women’s Breeches are available in plus size and shapely. The show breeches we offer come in black and beige/tan. Currently we offer breeches sized to a 42. Properly fitting English breeches should sit at or just below the hips and will not be baggy at the crotch. The Velcro at the bottom of the leg should be above the anklebone. If there is a seam below the knee it should not cut off circulation to your calves. The leather knee patches if correct will be at the inside of your knee with equal amount of suede above and below your knee. A great pair of riding breeches also called britches can be worn with half chaps and paddock boots, as well as tall field or dress boots.
Schooling riding tights and breeches are for everyday casual riding wear. Comfort is the key while horseback riding. Schooling clothes are stretchy and a bit more fun than proper horse show clothing. Most equestrian schooling clothing can be washed in the laundry at home. These styles of tights come in many colors. We also offer a full size range of suede and leather half chaps that looks great with schooling tights..
Our plus size women’s show jackets are available in beautiful navy wools in sizes regular and long up through a 52. The bottom of the jacket should end just below your bottom. The waist should hit your true waist and the jacket sleeves need to be about an inch below your wrist bone. The generous but accurate cut of our plus size show coats will make you proud to enter the horse show ring.
Ladies ratcatchers are stocked in many colors up to bust size 52. We stock wicking fabrics poly/cotton blends and cotton horse show shirts. We also offer monogramming for your ratcatcher chocker collar. A finishing touch that is extremely important. By carefully measuring yourself we are able to choose the correct equestrian clothing for every size rider. |
